One of China's 56 officially recognized ethnic groups, with a population around 40,000, concentrated in Dehong (德宏) and Baoshan (保山) prefectures of Yunnan. Their Husa swords (户撒刀) have been a prized handicraft for centuries and were once supplied to local Tai-Dehong rulers.
