The National Day military parade is held on Chang'an Avenue.
Tips
history
Named after the Tang-dynasty capital 长安 ("Eternal Peace", today's Xi'an). Laid out under the Ming, it was widened to 120m in 1959 so tanks could parade past Tiananmen. Nicknamed 神州第一街 — "China's First Street".
mistakes
Use the apostrophe: Cháng'ān Jiē, not Chángān. The apostrophe signals that 安 starts a new syllable, otherwise "ngan" would be ambiguous. Same rule in Xī'ān, Tiān'ānmén.
