He is the eldest of the three sons of
李靖, the
托塔天王, followed by
木吒 and
哪吒. In 《
封神演义》 each brother learns from a different immortal, and Jinzha fights with a magic stake whose golden rings bind an enemy fast. In 《
西游记》 he serves the Buddha as a guardian.
