Born
邵仁楞 in Ningbo in 1907, Shao built Shaw Brothers Studio (
邵氏兄弟) into Hong Kong's dominant film house through the 1960s–70s, then co-founded TVB in 1967. He donated over HK$10 billion to education in mainland China — the thousands of
逸夫楼 on campuses are his legacy. Founded the Shaw Prize in 2002. Died in 2014 at age 107.
