usage
Almost always attributive: 载人飞船 ('manned spacecraft'), 载人航天 ('manned spaceflight'), 载人潜水器 ('manned submersible'). Contrast with 无人 ('unmanned'): 无人机 ('drone').
mistakes
载 has two readings: zài (4th tone) for 'to carry' and zǎi (3rd tone) for 'to record'. In 载人 it's zài — same reading as 装载 ('to load'). A regional variant pronunciation zǎi rén also exists.
