越中 is a literary name for the core territory of the ancient 越国 (Yuè Kingdom), centered on today's 绍兴 (Shàoxīng) in Zhejiang. It appears in Tang poetry most famously in 李白's 《越中览古》: "越王勾践破吴归，义士还家尽锦衣" — the poem meditates on King Goujian's victory over Wu, and the eventual decay of his palace.
