Tips

history
When the First Emperor died on tour in 210 BC, Zhao Gao and the chancellor 李斯 forged his will: the heir 扶苏 was ordered to kill himself, and the younger son 胡亥 took the throne as 秦二世. Zhao later had Li Si executed and drove the Second Emperor to suicide, and in 207 BC he was killed by the new ruler 子婴.
usage
The idiom 指鹿为马, 'to point at a deer and call it a horse', comes from him. It means to call black white on purpose, usually by someone powerful enough to make others agree.
