The original Magic (2016) was Huawei's halo concept phone under its Honor sub-brand. After US sanctions forced Huawei to sell Honor in late 2020, the new independent Honor pushed the Magic line to genuine flagship status — Magic6 Pro, Magic V2 foldable, Magic V3 — positioning it directly against Huawei Mate, OPPO Find X, and Xiaomi's numbered flagships.
