Tips

mistakes
Don't confuse 脏物 (zāngwù, 'dirty stuff' - 脏 with 月/肉 component) with 赃物 (zāngwù, 'stolen goods' - 赃 with 贝 'shell/money' component). Same pinyin, near-identical look, very different meaning. Subtitles sometimes write 脏物 where 赃物 ('contraband / loot') would be technically correct, but standard legal Chinese uses 赃物.
memory
The 月 (flesh) radical inside 脏 hints at bodily filth - sweat, organs, grime. The 贝 (cowrie / money) radical inside 赃 hints at illegal money. Pick the radical, pick the meaning.
