history
杼 is not used alone in modern Chinese; weaving vocabulary uses 梭 for the shuttle today. It survives in the literary 机杼 (loom; by extension, originality of composition). The quoted line is from the Book of Songs. It joins the wood radical 木 with 予 for the sound.
