American boxer, world middleweight champion from 1949 to 1951, nicknamed the Bronx Bull. Martin Scorsese's film 愤怒的公牛 (Raging Bull, 1980) tells his life and won Robert De Niro an Oscar.
Raging Bull has a different bull in each region: 愤怒的公牛 'angry bull' on the mainland, 蛮牛 'brute bull' in Taiwan, 狂牛 'mad bull' in Hong Kong. In 1943 he became the first man to beat Sugar Ray Robinson, his only win in their six fights.
