Du Kang is the legendary inventor of alcohol in Chinese myth, often identified with the Xia dynasty. Cao Cao's 《短歌行》 (c. 208 CE) made 'only Dukang' forever synonymous with wine: 何以解忧？唯有杜康。 Today 杜康 is also a Henan-based baijiu brand trading on this legend.
