usage
朝阳 has two distinct readings. zhāoyáng = 'the morning sun' (poetic, also figurative as in 朝阳产业 'sunrise industry'). cháoyáng = 'facing the sun' (real-estate listings: 朝阳的房子 = south-facing apartment), and is the reading used for the place name Beijing 朝阳区 (Cháoyáng Qū). Other Chaoyangs include Chaoyang in Liaoning and Chaoyang District in Changchun.
