Yifubao was Suning Holdings' (
苏宁) answer to Alipay (
支付宝) and Tenpay (
财付通) during China's mid-2010s mobile-payment land grab. The name follows the same
宝 ('treasure') branding template as
支付宝 and
余额宝 - by the early 2020s the brand was rolled into Suning Pay (
苏宁支付).
