旅游局 is the government agency overseeing tourism at each administrative level (

省/
市). At the national level,
国家旅游局 was merged in 2018 into the Ministry of Culture and Tourism
文化和旅游部, but the word
旅游局 is still widely used for local bureaus that run visitor centers, publish guides, and regulate travel agencies.
