Tips

usage
亲王 is the top rank of imperial prince and 恭 means 'respectful', so the title reads 'the Respectful Prince'. Conservatives mocked him as 鬼子六, 'Devil Six': 鬼子 for his dealings with foreigners, 六 for being the sixth son.
history
恭王府 was first the home of 和珅, the Qianlong emperor's notoriously corrupt favourite. After Heshen was forced to kill himself in 1799 it went to another prince, and only in 1850 to Prince Gong.
