usage
A racing image: a bend is where a driver can pass a rival who brakes too early. Since the 2010s it has been a buzzword in business and policy for overtaking stronger competitors at a moment of change, such as the shift to electric cars. On real roads, overtaking on a bend is dangerous and against the rules.
