奥体中心 (àotǐzhōngxīn): Olympic Sports Center

奥体中心 usually refers to Beijing's 国家奥林匹克体育中心, built for the 1990 Asian Games and upgraded for the 2008 Olympics. Many provincial capitals have their own 奥体中心 — Nanjing, Shenyang, Guangzhou, Ji'nan all built large stadium complexes for the 全运会 (National Games) and named them this way. The short form 奥体 is often used for the surrounding neighborhood and subway stop.
