在 + verb produces an attributive 'being-X-ed' modifier. Same template gives 在售 (on sale), 在读 (currently studying / enrolled), 在职 (on the job), 在编 (officially staffed).

mistakes

Don't confuse with 再见 (zàijiàn, 'goodbye') — same pinyin in some sloppy systems but the second character is different (建 build vs 见 see).
