Tips

history
Full name: 《中华人民共和国国徽法》 (Zhōnghuá Rénmín Gònghéguó Guóhuī Fǎ). Passed by the National People's Congress in March 1990, effective October 1991. The PRC emblem itself — Tiananmen, five stars, ears of grain, gear — was designed by Liang Sicheng (梁思成) and Lin Huiyin (林徽因)'s team and adopted in 1950. Companion law: 国旗 (Guóqífǎ, 'National Flag Law').
register
Strictly legal/administrative vocabulary. The pattern 名词+ 'noun+law' produces the short titles of statutes: 公司 (Company Law), 婚姻法 (Marriage Law), 个税 (Personal Income Tax Law).
