Personal name (Lǐ Chún). His reign (805–820) is called 元和中兴 (Yuánhé Zhōngxīng, 'the Yuanhe Restoration') because he successfully suppressed several rebellious (fānzhèn, military commanderies). He was killed by eunuchs after becoming obsessed with Daoist immortality elixirs.
