Tips

history
In 742 Emperor 唐玄宗 summoned 李白, then past forty and long without office, to 长安. Leaving home, he drinks, sings and dances with his children, and closes with 仰天大笑出门去,我辈岂是蓬蒿人 'laughing up at the sky I stride out the door: are men like us meant to stay among the weeds?'
usage
儿童 here means his own young children, not children in general, and 入京 is 'to go to the capital'.
