Contrast 偶蹄 (even-toed: cattle, pigs, sheep, deer, giraffes, camels) with 奇蹄 (odd-toed: horses, rhinos, tapirs). Modern cladistics folds cetaceans (whales/dolphins) into Artiodactyla as Cetartiodactyla, so whales are technically 偶蹄动物 too.
