Tips

culture
The commentary on this hexagram gives one of the most quoted lines in Chinese: 天行健,君子以自强不息 ('heaven moves on with vigour; the noble person never stops striving'). With a line from 坤卦 it makes the motto of 清华大学.
mistakes
乾 is read qián here. The same character also served as the old form of 干 'dry', read gān, but only that sense was simplified to 干; in the hexagram name it always stays 乾.
