Tips

culture
In 西游记 the rake was forged by 太上老君 and given to Zhu Bajie by the 玉皇大帝 when he was 天蓬元帅, marshal of the heavenly navy. Bajie boasts that it weighs 5,048 jin, the same number as the scrolls of scripture the pilgrims bring home.
culture
The idiom 倒打一耙 'to strike back with the rake', meaning to turn an accusation against the accuser, is often traced to Zhu Bajie's way of fighting with it.
