District of Chongqing on the upper Yangtze, heavily reshaped by Three Gorges Dam flooding — large parts of the old city were submerged in the early 2000s and rebuilt on higher ground. Gave its name to the signature dish 万州烤鱼 (Wanzhou grilled fish).
