The more famous person is spelled 陈赓 (Chén Gēng), a senior PLA general and Founding Grand General (十大大将). 陈庚 with 庚 ('seventh Heavenly Stem') is a common typo or personal-name variant — the two are easy to mix up because of identical pronunciation.

General Chen Geng (陈赓) fought in the Northern Expedition, led Eighth Route Army units against Japan, and commanded Chinese volunteers in Korea and in supporting Vietnam against the French. Died in 1961, aged 58.
