Used for organized, large-scale gathering — military 调集部队 (muster troops), 调集物资 (assemble supplies), 调集资金 (rally funds). Note: 调 here is diào (mobilize/transfer), not tiáo (adjust).
mistakes
调 has two readings: diào 'transfer/dispatch' (调集, 调动) vs tiáo 'adjust/blend' (调节, 调味). The military/logistics meaning always uses diào.
