Chinese kinship terms are highly specific.
表 (biǎo) indicates cousins through a female relative (e.g. your mother's siblings' children or your father's sisters' children).
兄弟 means brothers. Compare:
堂兄弟 (male cousins through male relatives, same surname). The female equivalent of
表兄弟 is
表姐妹.
