Tips

history
Hongkou ('Rainbow Mouth' — the mouth of the now-buried Hongkou Creek) was Shanghai's American Settlement in the 19th century and later the heart of the Japanese-administered area. It's famous as Lu Xun's last home, the site of the Shanghai Jewish Refugees Museum (where ~20,000 European Jews sheltered during WWII), and as the home of Shanghai Football Club's old ground (足球场).
