In summer lots of people drive to Xuyi just to eat crayfish.
Tips
culture
The county in full is 盱眙县, and it made its name with crayfish: 盱眙龙虾, cooked with thirteen spices, is sold all over China, and the county has held a crayfish festival every summer since 2001.
mistakes
Both characters are rare and the name is often misread. 盱 means to open the eyes wide and 眙 to gaze; in old texts the pair means "to look up and stare".
