玛尔斯 (Mǎ'ěrsī): Mars (Roman god of war)

Roman god of war (Latin: Mars), counterpart of Greek Ares (阿瑞斯 Āruìsī). Father of Romulus and Remus in founding myth; the month of March (三月) is named after him. The Chinese astronomical name for the planet Mars is 火星 (Huǒxīng, "fire star") — 玛尔斯 is the mythological/Western personification, not the planet.
