Tips
history
From the Tang poet Wang Wei's 《九月九日忆山东兄弟》: 独在异乡为异客,每逢佳节倍思亲。遥知兄弟登高处,遍插茱萸少一人. Wang Wei wrote it in Chang'an at seventeen during the Double Ninth Festival, missing his brothers east of the mountains.
usage
Usually quoted together with the following line 每逢佳节倍思亲. It is one of China's most representative homesickness poems, especially common around the Double Ninth Festival.
