极性 is a technical term used in physics and chemistry:
极性分子 (polar molecule),
极性溶剂 (polar solvent),
反向极性 (reversed polarity). Don't reach for it metaphorically the way English uses 'polarized opinions' - Chinese prefers
两极分化 (liǎngjí fēnhuà) for that figurative sense.
