A 2022 Weibo post described a foreign family at the airport whose luggage got lost; they simply shrugged and went shopping. Users called this 松弛感 - the antidote to Chinese 'tiger parent' / high-strung culture. By 2024 it had become shorthand for a whole aesthetic: linen, slow living, not sweating small stuff. Named a 2024 Top 10 buzzword by 《咬文嚼字》.
