In mainland Chinese cities,
垃圾站 is the small neighborhood-level transfer point where residents drop off bagged trash and where collection trucks pick it up. Since the 2019-onward sorting-policy push, many
垃圾站 have been rebuilt as
垃圾分类站 (lājī fēnlèi zhàn) — sorting stations with separate bins for
厨余 (food waste),
可回收 (recyclables),
有害 (hazardous), and
其他 (other).
