勤快 is more colloquial and everyday than
勤劳. It describes someone who's handy and not lazy with practical tasks — cleaning, cooking, running errands. A
勤快 person is the opposite of a
懒人 (lǎnrén, 'lazy person'). The opposite
不勤快 is a polite way of calling someone lazy.
