Two senses, both extremely common: in tournaments
出线 means 'to advance from the group stage' (literally 'to come out of the line/zone' onto the next stage); in racket sports / volleyball it means 'the ball went out of bounds'. Don't confuse with
出现 (chūxiàn, 'to appear') — same pinyin, different second character.
