Tips

usage
云云 closes a paraphrased or summarized quote, often with a faintly skeptical or dismissive tone — "...and similar talk" rather than a neutral "etc.". The here is the classical 云 ("to say"), reduplicated.

Bookish; mostly appears in essays, reportage, and formal writing. In speech you'd say 等等 (děngděng) or 什么的 (shénme de) instead.
