黎利 (Le Loi, 1385-1433) led a decade-long resistance against the Ming Chinese occupation of Vietnam, culminating in independence in 1427. He founded the Later Le dynasty and is celebrated in Vietnam similarly to how 岳飞 is venerated in China.
