A food/cooking word combining 鲜 (fresh-tasting, savory) with 嫩 (tender, soft). Used for meat, vegetables, seafood, and tofu — anywhere the freshness and softness both matter. The opposite would be 老 (lǎo) 'tough/overcooked' or 陈 (chén) 'stale'.
