His 六出奇计, six clever schemes recorded in 史记, include the one that cost 项羽 his adviser 范增: Xiang Yu's envoy was served a feast, then coarse food when his hosts feigned surprise that he was not Fan Zeng's man, and Xiang Yu came to distrust Fan Zeng.
