Wen's 'final lecture' 最后一次讲演 in Kunming on July 15, 1946, an open denunciation of the KMT assassination of Li Gongpu, is a staple of Chinese secondary school textbooks. He was shot by KMT agents hours later. The speech became a fixture of modern Chinese political rhetoric.
