Qian Qi passed the jinshi (进士) imperial exam in 751 with the famous poem 《》, whose closing couplet '不见' ('The song ends and no one is seen — only a few green peaks above the river') became one of the most quoted endings in Tang poetry. He is counted among the 才子 (Dàlì Shí Cáizǐ), the Ten Talents of the Dali era.
