莫提 is a sound-only transliteration:
莫 (mò) carries the 'mo' onset and
提 (tí) carries the 'ti' coda. The same pair appears in dubbed cartoons and translated novels for English Morty/Moti, Hebrew Moti, and Indian Moti.
莫 has the bonus of looking calm/literary, which is why translators reach for it more often than
摩 or
末.
