Tips

history
Old medicine placed 肓 deep below the heart, a spot no remedy could reach. The idiom 病入膏肓 ('the disease has entered the vitals') comes from a Zuo Zhuan story and now describes any problem too far gone to fix. Don't confuse it with 盲 (blind).
