The two ancient states had a clearly marked boundary 疆界.
Tips
history
畺 is not used independently in modern Chinese. It pictures lines 一 drawn between two fields 田 — a boundary. A bow radical 弓 and a 土 were added to make the modern character 疆 (frontier, territory).
register
Archaic only. It appears in palaeography and etymology notes; modern Chinese always writes 疆.

畺jiāng
boundary; border
Read as a stack: two field shapes 田 separated by horizontal lines 一 — the drawn boundary between plots. Indexed under Kangxi radical 田. With 弓 and 土 added it becomes 疆.
Filed under radical 田 (tián, #102) by convention. 田 is not a separate component in 畺, so no strokes are highlighted.
