usage
棉绒 is the fine fluff/lint that comes off cotton fabric or accumulates in dryers. Compare 棉花 (cotton plant material) and 绒毛 (fluff/down generally). For "velvet/fleece" use 绒 alone or compounds like 法兰绒 (flannel).
