暴光 and
曝光 are competing forms for the same word. Modern dictionaries and news media prefer
曝光 (pùguāng / bàoguāng) for both 'photographic exposure' and 'public exposure of wrongdoing';
暴光 still appears, especially in older text and casual writing, but is increasingly treated as a non-standard variant.
