晾衣杆 is the default in Chinese households—dryers are still less common than in the West. Modern apartments often install a
升降晾衣架 (motorized lift-up rack) so you can lower the pole to hang clothes and raise it up for sunlight.
杆 here is read gān (pole), not gǎn.
